Many interim managers have international experience and have worked abroad during their careers. This intercultural understanding is essential for successfully completing interim projects with international dimensions. The same applies to interim management providers.
Setting up, staffing, implementing, and successfully finishing demanding cross-border assignments is the pinnacle of interim management. Before founding INTERIM-SHERPAS, I staffed and managed several dozen international projects in my 18 years as an interim provider. International collaborations open up new perspectives – precisely for this reason, the team of INTERIM-SHERPAS maintains continuous exchange with selected international network partners and providers.

International projects are complicated; they often involve more complex stakeholder situations and coordination processes, varying interim market conditions, cultural barriers, and local contractual peculiarities. For us, it’s therefore clear that we always work with selected partners whom we have known personally for many years.
International project inquiries are bidirectional:
📌 Sometimes the project request comes from one of our own clients located in Germany and we are looking for an interim manager in the EU, the USA, Asia, or South America through an international partner provider („Germany goes international“).
📌 Sometimes it’s a subsidiary or a production site in Germany, and the commissioning corporate headquarters or the key investor is located in Paris, London, Milan, Madrid, Stockholm, or overseas. In this case we can deliver an experienced INTERIM-SHERPA from our network.

When it comes to HR services, the Netherlands is and always has been an inspiration! Whether temporary employment or interim management, the Netherlands set standards and broke new ground back in the 1960s. To this day, the Netherlands offers a window into a possible future of the German interim market and boasts a very high level of maturity.

In the last few weeks, I spent a few days in Amsterdam and used the office of our office provider Mindspace in the city center. The office is located directly on Dam Square and is housed in a magnificent building, „dating back to 1888 with all the characteristics of the Dutch Renaissance Revival architecture. With Mindspace’s imaginative touch, the space is extraordinarily exciting with plenty of room for teams of all sizes to thrive.“
It’s great to work in another city, maintain contacts, and gain inspiration for your own business. And besides, Amsterdam is always worth a visit.
