The power of humor in leadership

In 2020, behavioral scientist Jennifer Aaker and corporate strategist Naomi Bagdonas presented a publication on:

“Humor, Seriously. Why Humor Is a Secret Weapon in Business and Life (And how anyone can harness it. Even you.)”

The book was a bestseller and was based on an evaluation of current scientific literature, interviews with world-renowned comedians and inspiring business leaders.

When, how and why is something funny? How can you train humor? What effects does humor have in interpersonal relationships?

One thing seems certain: it is a false assumption to believe that leaders have to be serious all the time in order to be taken seriously. Research shows a different perspective. Humor has a surprising power, it can be a secret weapon to create a bond between people. And best of all, humor can be learned and trained.

Puuhh, let’s see what happens when everyone has read the book 🙂

First of all, here is the TED talk about the publication.
